Do not use moisturiser on the day of your tan.
Remove make-up, deodorant, perfume and creams prior to having your tan.
Wear underwear/a bikini or swimsuit, or anything else you feel comfortable in for your treatment. Attending your appointment
Aftercare
Wear loose dark clothing after your tan. Any tight clothing may cause wear marks.
Do not shower or bathe for 8-10 hours (the development period).
Do not exercise or swim during the development period, as sweating or prolonged exposure to water will fade your new tan.
Try not to touch your skin during the development time as your palms may get stained.
Moisturise, moisturise, mositurise! This helps to keep your tan for longer.
Frequently asked questions;
Q. How long will my tan last?
Depending on your preparation prior to your tan, lifestyle and daily skincare regime your spray tan could last up to 7-10 days. To maximise the life of your tan use Drench 2 Quench. With follow up applications there is no reason why a person can’t maintain the tan indefinitely.
Q. Will spray tanning protect me from getting sunburnt?
NO. When going into the sun you must wear sun protection?
Q. My last spray tan was different from the previous one even though it was done in the same salon using the same product
It comes down to your skin. Your skin is a living thing and is affected by many things like, the time of the month, season, the food you eat, stress, medication etc. All these things can alter your tan.
Q. Is it safe?
Yes DHA has been approved for use in the industry for over 30 years. Be aware Sunless Solutions contains NO SPF’s; protection is required to go out in the sun
Q. What if spray goes in my eyes?
Spray tanning has been used in millions of treatments with no adverse reactions being reported
Q. How does it work?
Spray tanning involves applying DHA to the skin using a specialist spray tanning machine. DHA then begins its reaction with the skin cells on the surface of the skin to appear naturally tanned
Q. Can anyone have a spray tan?
It is not advised to spray tan ladies within the first trimester of pregnancy.
Q. What should I wear?
Old dark underwear, swimsuit or bikini. For men Boxer or swim short/trunks would be suitable. Sunless Solutions are water soluble but clients should be aware of possible staining. Your Sunless Solution therapist should have disposable underwear available for you
Q. How long until I can shower?
Allow the tan to develop for 8 – 10 hours before taking a shower.
Q. Can the tan be removed?
The colour from your tan can not be removed, but it will fade as the outer layer of the skin naturally sheds. You can help the process by exfoliating, however, do not over scrub. The tan will naturally fade over about 1 week.
Q. Will the tan rub off?
Tanning Solutions are sometimes transferrable and Sunless Solutions cannot accept liability for the transfer of our products to clothing, especially Wedding Dresses as they are notoriously tight fitted and the tans can sometimes rub and may therefore not come off of the dress. Dry Cleaning can help this process of removal but it is not guaranteed that the rub off from tanning products will be completely removed
Q. Is there an age restriction?
If you are under 16 years you must have parental consent
Q. Can I go swimming?
Chlorine in swimming pools is a bleaching agent so will rapidly fade the tan.
Q. How long before my next tan?
Clients may have another spray tan 24hrs after their initial tan. Sunless solutions recommend 3 days after the first tan as the skin will be ready for a gentle exfoliation thus allowing the client to prepare the skin for treatment
We recommend having your spray tan 48 hours before any pre-planned event however, you can still have it done the previous day so long as you follow all the prep and after care rules shown above.
